Lands Department

Established in April 1982, the Lands Department is in charge of all land matters in Hong Kong.  We are committed to maintaining an effective land administration system for optimizing the use of land resources and meeting the changing needs of the community.

Our responsibilities include land disposal, valuation, land acquisition, clearance, lease enforcement as well as land control and management.  We are also the dedicated survey, mapping and geospatial data agency of the Government, providing and maintaining geospatial information of Hong Kong in both digital and printed formats for use by different sectors and the general public.

The Department operates through three functional offices, namely the Lands Administration Office, the Survey and Mapping Office and the Legal Advisory and Conveyancing Office.
