HKCIEGU
The Hong Kong Construction Industry Employees General Union (HKCIEGU) was established in 1986 and is a member union of the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions. It operates as a group union for the construction industry, bringing together 24 affiliated unions with varying histories and representing different trades. Among these affiliates are unions with over a century of history, those with large memberships and fine traditions, as well as newer unions with growing potential.
The union's mission is guided by the spirit of "Patriotism, Love for Hong Kong, Solidarity, Rights, Welfare, and Participation." Its core objectives include:
-Fighting for labor rights.
-Mediating labor relations.
-Promoting occupational safety and health.
-Caring for workers' professional lives.
-Providing welfare services for workers.
-Organizing recreational activities.
-Participating in labor and social affairs.
Membership is open to all individuals working in the construction industry, including those on construction sites, in renovation, clerical staff, and other employees in departments and projects related to the field.
